Land Pooling: What's Pawan's Stand?
So, where is Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan when all this is happening. One is not sure if the party still exists or not. But when the party was launched amidst much fanfare, which was not very long ago, Pawan Kalyan appeared to have an opinion on various issues, local, national and international.
In fact, Jana Sena had a vision on national and international issues too. And the party bible was the book ‘Ism’. Now, no one is aware of what happened to the book and what happened to the party ideology.
One cannot see Pawan Kalyan who campaigned for the TDP-BJP alliance anywhere in the picture. At the time, he said he would ‘question’ the government if it took up any anti-people policies. But now no one is sure as to whom Pawan is supporting in the issue.
So the big question remains – Is Pawan on the side of farmers or is he on the side of the Andhra Pradesh CM who is promising the moon. Is he on the side of ‘experience’ or is he on the side of farmers who are distressed by all the land pooling activity going on around them despite their protests.
Well, one cannot ignore the fact that the issue is regarding the rice bowl of Andhra Pradesh known as ‘Annapurna of Andhra Pradesh’.
The region has the potential to provide rice for the rest of the country and the farmers there have the capability and expertise to grow three crops irrespective of rainfall.
Efforts are on to split the farmers who are protesting and dummy farmers are being made out of TDP supporters.
In short, the Andhra Pradesh government is trying to go ahead with its plan hook or crook. On the other hand, Chandra Babu Naidu who believes that his vision is perfect and claims that people are not seeing the future as he sees it, is far from going back on the plan.
Surprisingly, the leaders don’t seem to understand the concern of the farmers who toil in rain and sun to provide food for the state. And the CM has gone to the extent of treating farmers as weeds. But he seems to have forgotten that fact that it has hardly been a few months since he had gone personally to them and begged for votes.
Meanwhile, the ruling TDP government has announced that it will take back the lands assigned to Vanpic and other institutions by the past governments. Well, if that is the case, can’t the new capital city be developed on those lands? Why throw away the baby with the bath water when it would be best if huge tracts of waste lands are put to use by developing the new capital and establish industries?
So, when so many options emerge if an ordinary man puts his mind to it, why is a man who founded Jana Sena party, a man who was inspired by Latin American revolutionaries like Che Guevera and a man who had written a hard-hitting book like Ism silent? Is he not bothered or does he not have the time to talk about the issue? Or did he strike a deal to keep silent?
Prior to the elections, he came to rescue the people who were cheated by the Congress. Now, the very party he campaigned for is cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Why is Pawan Kalyan not ‘questioning’ them now? Or will he ‘choose’ to question only during the next elections?
