Suma Kanakala started her career in serials in 1990 and she acted in serials like Megalaya, Mandhakini, Samatha etc. She and Rajeev kanakala was acted under the direction of her uncle devadas kanakala in Megalaya Serial. Rajeev and Suma were both did many serials like Ruthuragalu,Megalaya etc,they both were loved each other and they got married. Suma and Rajeev having 2 children: Roshan kanakala and Manaswini kanakala.
Suma was a presenter from the age of 21, she has hosted many Telugu audio launches, film awards and functions.. Apart from Malayalam and Telugu, she is also fluent in Hindi, English, and Tamil. She has acted on Telugu television in various serials and shows since the mid-1990s.
Suma got Nandi Award for best TV anchor 2010 for very popular show Punchavataram. Suma, one of the most popular Telugu television anchors, has anchored and hosted number of shows in almost all Telugu channels. Suma's flagship show is Star Mahila on ETV, which attracts a female audience.Her versatility is evident in Panchavataram on TV9. Cash on ETV and Bhale chansule on MAA TV are her current prime time shows.
When one of the participants asked Suma about secret of her beauty, she answered this way. ‘Just enjoy my beautiful look only on TV with make up but never dare to see me off the screen. You will be frightened,’ Suma Laughed.
Suma started her own production house named K. Suma Rajeev Creations on 26 December 2012 and has produced a show named Lakku Kikku which is presently broadcasting on Zee Telugu & Kevvu keka. She won many awards including Nandi Award for best TV anchor 2010 Punchavataram,Limca Fresh Face Award 2009,Local TV Media Awards Best Anchor Star Mahila 2010,Cinegoer Award Best Anchor Star Mahila 2010,Limca fresh face award.
Suma has suffered a few vocal cord infections previously. She has brought more trouble on herself by doing 62 episodes continuously. For now her doctors have asked her to take it slow and try not to speak for the next three months. Let's hope our favourite anchor would not take any more chances with her voice.
