HC asks to deposit 10 crores to release Lingaa

(Friday) is Kollywood super star Rajnikath’s Birthday and his latest
film Linga is also releasing tomorrow to mark the ocassion. Hence, it
would be a great occasion to celebrate for his fans and all preparations
going in full swing.
Meanwhile the film faced an unexpected shock.
Madras High Court Bench in
Madurai on Thursday asked the film producer to deposit 10 crores in the
court to release the film.A Division Bench ordered that the Rs.5 crore
in cash and the rest in bank guarantee should be handed over to the High
Court Bench Registrar by 12 noon on Friday to release the film.

Rathinam who appealed against the single court order which dismissed his
plea, passed the above judgment. The petitioner K R Ravi Rathinam
claims his story 'Mullai Vanam 999' is actually the story of 'Lingaa'.
Producer Rockline Venkatesh expressed confidence the problem will be
sorted out and film will be released as scheduled.
Meanwhile, "Lingaa" tickets are being booked in full swing and the film
is expected to have the highest opening for a Tamil movie.
